About Founder
Dr. Blossom A. Burton is internationally recognized for her work in spearheading education-based and human resource development projects. She is a major contributor to heightening awareness of critically important global issues related to education, human services and economics. Dr. Burton has worked with the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Rutgers-The State University of New Jersey, Africare (non-profit organization specialized in development aid for Africa) and the United State Agency for International Development (USAID) to develop and implement governance, educational and economic development programs. She has collaborated with Lesotho's Ministry of Education in developing vocational and entrepreneurship programs for the Basotho community.
Dr. Burton is the founder of Transition Youth International, a leading education organization dedicated to providing capacity building and training for youth and young adults. She is also a Senior International Consultant providing services to education institutions, nonprofits and private organizations in the areas of capacity building/training, program development and resource mobilization. Her accomplishments include earning a doctorate degree in education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA. She is also a Certified International Job and Career Transition Coach (IJCTC). Dr. Burton actively serves on the boards of trustees of Mount Ida College, National Organization for Career Credentialing (NOCC) and the Career Readiness Certificate Consortium (CRCC).
As a result of Dr. Burton's continuous academic, civic, and professional efforts that have targeted positive social change, she has earned several honors and awards. Her accolades include the International Foundation for Education and Self-Help Fellowship, and membership into the Phi Delta Kappa International Honors Society.
